The multi-use paths that connect so much of the Outer Banks will get a boost from the town of Kill Devil Hills. Writing for the Outer Banks Voice, Rob Morris reports on plans to create a more extensive network of paths for joggers, walkers and bicyclists.
“A new fund to continue to expand and improve the town’s sidewalks and multi-use paths is part of a budget that was approved Wednesday by the Kill Devil Hills Board of Commissioners.
Property owners will pay another 3 cents per $100 of value for the 2014-2015 fiscal year, which starts July 1.
Commissioners said the tax increase was needed to catch up on projects and purchases that were put off by the recession that started in 2008.”
