Is it folk? Is it bluegrass? Whatever it is, this music’s on fire! Ryan Shupe & the RubberBand will perform Saturday at 7:30 pm at First Flight High School in KDH. The show is one of a series presented by the Outer Banks Forum for the Lively Arts, whose mission is to promote the appreciation of and involvement in the performing arts on the Outer Banks and nearby areas through the presentation of an annual affordable series of concerts by diverse artists, integrated with activities of other community organizations.
“Each member possesses years of experience on his respective instrument; together, their collective talent is explosive and undeniable,” said Eddie Cooke, president of the Outer Banks Forum.
“Lead singer Ryan Shupe formed the band as an outlet for his songwriting, and it soon took on a life all its own as ‘folk musicians on steroids playing eclectic string music with bluegrass roots.’ ”
The band from Salt Lake City, Utah, has built a following around the country.”
