The first of what we hope is many Americana Beer Fests has come and gone. Last Saturday night’s event proved conclusively that if you pour some wonderful beer, serve really tasty food and play great music, everyone will have a fantastic time!
Held at The Pavilion at Pirate’s Cove, the happening featured beer from veteran-owned breweries as well as local breweries Weeping Radish, Full Moon Brewery and the Outer Banks Brewing Station.
Musical entertainment from Dangermuffin and the Hackensaw Boys was about as good as it gets. The Hackensaw Boys played some great nu-grass sounds and Dangermuffin with their tight funky beat showed what a trio of really talented musicians can do.
There has to be a mention of the food because it was great. A simple way of getting everyone fed, wrist bands came with four small tabs that could be easily taken off and applied to the apps that were offered.
The food was amazing. Rooster’s bacon and eggs rocked–smoked pork belly, their own deviled eggs and a pepper jelly glaze–just wonderful. And Blue Water Grill’s cheddar and pork belly sandwich on crispy mini-French bread called out for a second visit. All of it indescribably good.
Kudos to Hype Promotions for putting this together and the best part is it goes to a good cause—proceeds will be donated to the Dare County Veterans Advisory Council.
