It would be tough to envision a place more Outer Banks than Art’s Place in Kitty Hawk. Tess Whitehurst writing for the Outer Banks Insider gets down and dirty with the feel of the place.
“There is a beach mentality here that transports you back to an older, simpler time.”
Okay, I ain’t gonna lie. Part of me wants to avoid mentioning Art’s Place around tourists because I don’t want them crowding up the place. This is our place, our secret, our buddies, beer, beach, burgers and some of the best live music on the beach. You don’t have to be a local to understand, though. Maybe you’re an old-timer or an OBX lover from way back who remembers Art’s and that beautiful feeling of having a whole day to just hang at the beach, have a cocktail or two, listen to some music and be fed… well fed.”
