Arboretum in Kill Devil Hills is the home to a butterfly garden.
Some of us have lived on the OBX for YEARS, and are just finding out about this! The Butterfly Garden in the Outer Banks Arboretum and Teaching Garden is a surprising splash of beauty and color along the wooded paths of the Arboretum in Kill Devil Hills.
“Part of the Outer Banks Arboretum and Teaching Garden in Kill Devil Hills is the Butterfly Garden, where you can learn about the life cycle of the insect or just enjoy its quiet beauty.
This is the time of year when the butterflies are out in all of their glory. Sunny days are best for seeing their full colors.
The arboretum is near the Baum Senior Center and the Dare County Public Library. Learn more about butterflies and the Master Gardeners, who created the arboretum with the Dare County branch of North Carolina Cooperative Extension, here and here.”
Baldwin Video, in collaboration with Outer Banks Visions, has created a lush video about The Butterfly Garden that is full of butterflies, flowers and great information about the Garden.
