NCDOT crews are on hand to begin repairing the washed out section of NC12 north of the Black Pelican. High tide was at 10 am this morning, and there may have been a little bit of overwash; but with the tide out, work should be able to begin. This article from the Outer Banks Voice fills in some details.
“Work to repair a washed-out section of N.C. 12 in Kitty Hawk is on track to start as early as this afternoon.
A $412,933 contract has been awarded to Waff Contracting Inc. for the project, which should be finished by the middle of December, according to a North Carolina Department of Transportation statement.”
