Ghost Light and Headlines
The Mustang Spring Jam is coming back to Corolla for the 8th time. It’s hard to imagine, but this one may be the best yet.
It’s two days this year, Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19 —it would be tough to squeeze that range of music and talent into just one day.
Things kick off the Saturday evening with Emma’s Lounge and Travers Brothership on Mike Dianna’s Grill Room deck.
The Travers Brothership bring to the stage is scorching hot rock/blues guitar and a lot of funk. Emma’s Lounge…think what would happen if country/bluegrass musicians decided they wanted to do some rock and blues with some really strong drumming and an amazing vocalist. Worth checking out.
Sunday it’s a full day of music
Mustang Music festivals always kicks off with the kids from the Mustang Outreach Program. It’s worth getting there early just to see how these kids take to performance.
The day is going to be filled with some truly amazing musicians.
Local blues guitarist Mojo Collins and Triple Vision. Last time we saw Mojo was at the Bourbon and Blues at Rooster’s Southern Kitchen and he was smoking hot.
Roosterfoot is back again. When they played the 2017 Spring Jam, their blend of blues, rock and gospel was memorable. It may sound like an odd combination, but it works.
The headliner for the show is Ghost Light.
Think of them as a cross between Phish and the Grateful Dead with some strong jazz licks thrown in. They are amazing.
Looking to extend the experience? Check out Sundogs Saturday night with Downtown Abby and The Echoes. Then or Sunday night after the Spring Jam closes, if you missed Emma’s Lounge Saturday, check them out at Sundogs.
Proceeds for Mustang Music festivals benefit the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and the Mustang Outreach Program.
