As the Mustang Music Festivals have grown, Mike Dianna, the founder and guiding force behind the twice a year events, has wanted to do more to give back to the community. He has always donated a portion of the proceeds to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and now,
with the Mustang Outreach Program, his belief that the Mustang Music Festivals could do more for the community is coming true.
The mission statement of the Outreach Program says it all: “The mission of the Mustang Outreach Program is to supplement the cultural arts programs in local schools with world class music performances, residencies and mentoring programs. Its goal is also to provide a stage for musically gifted local students to perform their self-composed works.”
A portion of the proceeds of the Mustang Music Festival coming up October 10 and 11 will go to the MOP, but the first event to fund the program is just around the corner. The Back to School Bash is happening August 17 at the Outer Banks Brewing Station in Kill Devil Hills. The Bash starts Sunday at 3pm, featuring Soul House Revival, student performances and a community art project.
This looks like a great mix of music and fun and it’s for a great cause. Be there if you can!
