New owners and a new look will greet vacationers this April as the Nags Head Inn reopens as the Holiday Inn Express Nags Head Oceanfront. Writing for the Outer Banks Voice, Michelle Wagner reports that the mainstay of Nags Head since the 1980s will add amenities but is hoping to keep many of the staff that created its reputation for excellent service.

Coastal Hospitality Associates bought the 100-room hotel in December from John Norkus of Houston, Texas and has begun renovations to its interior.”
