Northern Outer Banks Brewing Company has beers ready for summer sipping!
And now there are four. Carova native Michael Cherry is the latest to enter the Outer Banks microbrew world with his Northern Outer Banks Brewing Company beers, Penny Hill IPA, Swan Beach Honey Pale Ale, Corolla Honey Saison, and a Corolla Lager. Check out Russ Lay’s story in the Outer Banks Voice, complete with tasting notes.
“Michael Cherry is among the rarest of locals.
He grew up in the four-wheel drive area of Currituck County in the shadow of the legendary Penny Hill sand dune, an isolated place in the days of his youth that only a handful of people can call their “hometown,” so to speak.
And so he was destined to surf, and did so all through middle school, high school and college, competing in ESA contests and loving the sport.
He discovered he had a knack for writing, and that led to a period of traveling the world writing about exotic surfing destinations for Surfing magazine and Henry Morales’ Wavehunters Surfing Vacations.”
