The Nags Head Elementary School’s Great Pumpkin Fair is always a blast! It is an Outer Banks community event at its absolute best–all for a good cause–supporting our children’s education. Mark your calendars for October 4 and don’t miss this one.

GREAT PUMPKIN FAIR
Saturday, October 4, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Pick out your Halloween pumpkins and fall decor at the ninth annual Nags Head Elementary School Great Pumpkin Fair on Saturday, October 4 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Choose from hundreds of pumpkins, including pie pumpkins, Cinderella pumpkins, small, medium and gigantic pumpkins, white pumpkins and more. Other fall decorating items for sale will include mums, gourds, straw bales and Indian corn.
Plan to stay awhile as there will be much more to do than pick out pumpkins. Also at the fair will be fall-themed games and activities for kids, Zoo to You Petting Zoo and pony rides (12 to 3 p.m.), bounce houses and slides, a bake sale, a silent auction and delicious food from Mulligans, Tubb’s Hot Dogs and Island Snow Cone.
Kicking off the festival this year is the Great Pumpkin Run, a 2K run/walk starting and ending at the new Dowdy Park next to Nags Head Elementary School. Cost is $10 if you register in advance at obxgofar.org. The first 250 entrants will receive a finisher medal.
Proceeds from the Pumpkin Fair support the programs and projects of the NHES PTO.
