A winter storm is headed for the OBX.
As a massive storm forms off Florida, the Outer Banks can expect to see a wintry mix of rain, snow and ice, creating potentially dangerous conditions throughout the area. As the storm leaves, temperatures will plummet, struggling to reach the mid 20s, as Rob Morris of the Outer Banks Voice reports.
“A winter storm developing to our south will roll through northeastern North Carolina on Wednesday and continue into Thursday.
So far, forecasters say the odds of snow accumulating more than an inch on the Outer Banks are low, but just across the sounds and farther inland, some areas might end up with 3 to 5 inches.”
